SQL Developer/DBA

Beyond Payroll, the parent company of analytic.li and HireCredit, is breaking new ground in workforce analytics, tax credit automation, and data integration technologies. We're solving really difficult data-related problems that have plagued employers (and those who serve them) for decades. After less than two years in business, our two products have been named partners of Kronos, one of the largest payroll, HR, and timekeeping companies in the world; analytic.li has been recognized as the advanced analytics partner for Kronos Workforce Ready, and HireCredit has been named the preferred tax credit processor for Kronos Workforce Dimensions.

So...we're growing! We're looking for a SQL Developer and DBA to join our team.  As a member of our Engineering team, you will develop systems to ensure the quality and integrity of all data sets produced for customer consumption within our product platforms. You will optimize our databases, implement performance enhancements, and create mechanisms to automatically monitor and validate the data in the analytic.li data warehouse and distribution systems. Your work will be essential to the ongoing growth of analytic.li as a trusted source of workforce analytics solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement systems to conduct data validation and ensure data integrity for newly onboarded customers and ongoing ETL processes
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership on the development of automated data testing/balancing procedures in all areas of the platform
  • Analyze and optimize database performance; make recommendations to leadership on ways to make the platform more performant and robust
  • Maintain error and discrepancy reporting for data-related issues
  • Implement interfaces to allow internal stakeholders to get data needed for trend analysis and analytics
  • Help create procedures, write documentation consistent with growing understanding of our environment and business practices
  •  An overall team player willing to jump and support wherever possible across all functional areas of the business
  • A guardian of our culture actively participating to ensure a great employee and team experience

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Prior experience with development and/or operational role involving Microsoft SQL technologies
  • 2 years background in MS SQL query writing/optimization with ability to perform data quality/data exception research
  • 2 years background in Extract Load Transform implementation and/or operational support
  • 2 years background in optimization and maintenance of MS SQL databases
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve Tier 1 ETL-related data problems prior to escalating

Bonus Qualifications (if you have these too, you have a leg up on the competition!)

  • Experience with OLAP (SSAS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Familiarity with Git
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience deploying on and working with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
